What a time block is
A block is a reservation of time, not a promise that reality must obey. It helps you decide in advance what kind of work deserves protected attention.
Leave buffer
Back-to-back blocks assume perfect estimates and zero interruptions. Short buffers make the schedule more resilient.
Re-plan instead of failing
If a block is missed, move the work or reduce the plan. The value is in making trade-offs visible, not in maintaining a perfect calendar.
Best uses
Time blocking works well when you have several categories of work competing for the same day, or when important work is repeatedly displaced by messages and small tasks.
